Will sifts through half-packed boxes in Maya's flat. He finds the Hugzilla plushie — oversized, ridiculous. He stares at it. IRIS stands in the doorway, watching him quietly. He talks about packing Maya's things.
Will exits Maya's building carrying the giant Hugzilla, which blocks his sightline. A cyclist — GRAHAM — slams into him. Will falls. Graham hits the pavement, blood at his hairline. Will tries to help; Graham coughs, bleeds.
Neighbourhood café. Will sits alone with the Hugzilla plushie in the opposite chair. GRAHAM walks in, pushes the plushie aside, sits down. He tells Will he remembers the crash — "it wasn't a dream." He was dying and transferred his consciousness into Will as a time traveller. They discuss the rules.
Evening. Will and Graham walk a sodium-lit street, shutters half-down, shop lights dying. Graham grabs Will's arm and rewinds time — they're on the same street, earlier. Graham explains the rules of travel: can't go before birth or after death, always end up wherever your body was.
Will opens his eyes in Maya's living room. It's empty — then Maya's voice from the bathroom. She emerges, hair wet. Will is overwhelmed — she's alive. They embrace. The clock on the wall ticks.
Two years later. Will sits under a tree on a park hill, reading his notebook. IRIS walks up and sits beside him. They greet casually. A quiet, reflective beat.
Friday night bar atmosphere. Will stands at a high-top with Iris and friends, slightly drunk. He threads through the crowd to the bar, where he meets HANNAH — she strikes up conversation. They talk about grief, Julia's sister, meeting people. Then JULIA steps up, introduces herself. She's with Hannah — puts her arm around her.
University cafeteria. Bright, high glass, pendant lamps. Will sits at a table. Hannah approaches, spots him, sits nearby. They talk about how they keep running into each other. Hannah mentions Julia's sister. Will mentions Maya died. Hannah extends sympathy — a genuine connection.
Housewarming party — downtown apartment, warm light, shoulder-close people with drinks. Will navigates the crowd. He bumps into JOSH at the fridge, who's friendly and offering beers. Then HANNAH pops up: "Boo!" Will smiles. Julia is at the party but not in this scene.
Quieter bedroom with coats on the bed. Will opens a dresser drawer and finds a paperback with a photobooth strip as a bookmark — Hannah and Julia, cheek to cheek. JULIA enters and catches him. He's embarrassed; she's curious.
Morning after. Will walks a street alone. GRAHAM leans against a wall, confronts him — "You were there." They argue about changing the past. Graham warns it's dangerous. Will walks away angry.
Will and Hannah at home, playing Jenga at a table. Hannah explains it's about patience and steady hands. They discuss how she met Julia over coffee. Will pulls the wrong block — the tower crashes.
Same café, corner window table. JULIA in the black dress comes out of the bathroom and crosses to the counter where JANA serves her. Julia's phone dies trying to pay. WILL appears and swipes his phone to pay for her latte — taking Josh's original role. Julia is surprised and grateful. HANNAH is also present. Timeline has been altered.
Street. Will walks away from the café. GRAHAM intercepts him — says Will has changed something. Graham is furious, grabs Will's wrist. "This isn't a game."
FLASHBACK to the original park café meeting (same setting as 1.13). Tree shade dapples the terrace. HANNAH sits at a table. JOSH at another table, reading, smiling at her. WILL and GRAHAM watch from the trees at a distance. Graham confronts Will about creating chaos.
Que Sera, Sera. Will stands in Maya's living room. MAYA emerges from the bathroom, wet-haired. They talk; she sings with him. He's on the verge of breaking. The clock ticks. Will contemplates — then flashes out.
Midday. Will suddenly appears on a street holding a coffee cup. No sign of where he is. He walks, then hears a car crash O.S. He rounds the corner and finds HANNAH lying on the street, dying. Blood, broken glass. Will panics — this is the consequence of his changes.
REPEAT of 1.07 — same garden path, same staging. Hannah bursts out of Josh's house. Will grabs her shoulder, spins her around. Now seen from Will's POV. He was at the crash. She's terrified. Must match 1.07 exactly — same wardrobe, same blocking.
