Julia and Hannah sit opposite each other. Julia sips from the latte.
Jesus. Sweet relief.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone need a coffee more than you right now.
It's good too.

Yeah, I live on the other side of town. But the funeral was close by.
It really is a nice dress.

If you don't mind me asking, whose funeral?
My sister's.
Oh. I'm sorry.
Thanks. It was a long time coming.
What did she have?
Cancer. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Big sister or little sister?
(as she sees Julia's face)
I'm sorry, I get flustered, I don't know what kind of questions to ask.
Little sister.
Yeah, you give off big sister energy. Sorry again.
And where is she?
She went home with my parents.
But not you?
I don't mean to keep you.
It's okay. What's your name, by the way?
Hannah. With an 'H'.
I'm sorry, habit.
Okay, Hannah with an H, I'm Julia.
Nice to meet you. Sorry it had to be like this.
I'm sorry too. She was sweet.
What was her name?
Nathalie. She was the youngest, so in a way, it seems the most unfair. You know what the worst part is about saying goodbye slowly? There's never a definite moment. Something you could point at and say: this is farewell. People just fade out.
I wish I knew what to say. I've never had someone that close to me die.
Well, that means you're lucky.
Yeah. I guess I am.
They say you learn to live with it. Not that you miss people less, just that you... learn to live with it.
(a beat)

Julia rises. As she does, Hannah catches herself saying:
It was nice to meet you.

Hannah watches Julia exit, then turns to see Josh still reading his book. On Hannah, thinking.
