INT. STUDENT HOUSE - NIGHT #4#
The party is packed wall to wall — music pounding, students shouting over each other, bodies pressed in the hallway. Hannah pushes through in her coat, slipping past beer bottles and backpacks, trying not to be noticed.
Through the crush of people, Hannah spots Maya — laughing with a group near the window, a drink in her hand. Hannah hesitates, then starts pushing her way across the room toward her.
Maya?
Hi. Do I know you?
My name's Hannah. Can I talk to you?
Sure.
Something off-screen catches Hannah's eye. She stops, tense.
Sorry, give me one second?
In the corner: GRAHAM. Awkward in the chaos, clutching his soda like a prop, scanning the room. Hannah changes course and heads straight toward him.
What are you doing here?
Having a drink. What are you doing here?
Looking for Maya.
Oh. Sorry, I don't know who that is.
This gives Hannah pause.
You don't?
Who's Sarah?
This is Sarah's party?
Oh, right. Can you excuse me?
Hannah walks away again and grabs her phone. Intercut between Hannah and Julia.
Graham is here.
What? Why?
It's his classmate's party.
I don't understand.
This isn't his Traveller version.
But shouldn't Graham be here any moment, then? He can help us.
He should, but he isn't. I think something's wrong. Remember back at the hotel room? The phone didn't ring.
You think something happened?
Well, whatever it is, he doesn't recognise me.
Can you come outside?
Why?
I have an idea.
