A narrow student street heaving with noise. Music thumps from open windows, clusters of smokers on stoops, laughter spilling into the dark. Hannah and Naomi weave through the crowd, shoulders brushing, half-shouting to be heard.

Naomi suddenly spots someone up ahead. Without warning, she grabs Hannah’s hand, pulls her into a side alley.
